I’m considering making a list on our company git repository of lemmy instances not operated by marxists, I think it’d be a great way to introduce more people to this network.
However, my only concern is this being used as a blanket blocklist on instances operated by marxists. Any ideas, will this make more good or harm?
Let’s take a trip on DMT. Welcome to the Dank Microwave Taco or DMT for short. Anything and everything goes in here. Be sure to share your experience on DMT with your friends, family and social media. @WiggleHard bans nothing and exiles nobody (Dont doxx wolfballs users, no posting of porn/nudes or foot fetish material unless it involves political scandals, no ads for sex sites or dating sites; do that on your own time, no solicitation for pyramid scams, no posting job advertisements unless from official job sites, no posts supporting pedophilia, not all love is love) also: (we cannot allow violations of the patriot act concerning how we speak, no calls for violence, suggesting you are personally harming someone ect. These things are not free speech protected by law but actually against the law and could get the website shut down.) (no spam posting, especially spam posting of what could be considered symbols of hate) examples: guy posting nazi flag 5 times in one day, guy posting “whitey is the devil over and over, im going to use my best judgement on this one rule)
Oh shit. You make a good point about this putting you on a block list. Honestly with that said I don’t know. Where are you leaning more towards right now
I’m gonna go ahead with it methinks, if they want to block us they will anyway I guess. Can’t stop people putting their head in the sand.
I’ll begin creation of this git repo and add instances to it, please reply to this comment with instances you’d like me to add :)
Exploding Heads please

Damn Gittea is good these days I had no clue how far its come
I think the instances that want to block us, will block us anyway.
My hope for the Lemmyverse going forward is that it becomes a lot more tolerant of different viewponts and willing to engage in discussion rather then simply block/ban.
It also puts a responsibility on us to be respectful when we engage.
I think you’re right.
Do it.
Thinking about it more we not only should add right leaning instances but generally instances who won’t ban you for saying the “wrong stuff”
I agree on this point. I don’t want an ideological echo chamber, just a place that you don’t have to be walking on eggshells.
The fact is right now right wing places are the places that let you say stuff and they just call you stupid instead of banning you or seeking out your employer, but even that could change in a heartbeat. What matters is libre.
I think you’re right :)

We can do this through subscriptions I suppose, so that when you visit a right leaning instance, you are recommended more content of the same type (through subscribing to communities)

On point
No worries, you’re pretty much bang on with that statement.
It is going to filter out zombies from the crowd. I already use the lemmy.ml blocklist to find good instances.
Ha ha lol really? I know I’m on some lemmy instances but I can’t use them. Why? Because the fucking ban me LOL can’t say shit there
That is an interesting tactic, I will investigate that :)
The thing is most lib instances are already here. I am talking about exploding heads, fbxl, narwhal.city, nrsk.no
I sorta feel like they’re gonna do what they’re gonna do. On the main fediverse fediblock exists, but only real squares mindlessly use it.
